The Inventory Technician plays a crucial role in managing two key areas within the organisation. Firstly, the technician is responsible for receiving equipment physically in the inventory department. This involves ensuring that all incoming items are accurately logged, categorised, and stored in an organised manner to facilitate easy access and retrieval. Secondly, the role encompasses the end-to-end Goods In/Out process providing dedicated support to both the Live Productions & Sales and System Integration teams. This includes coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to manage deliveries and dispatches efficiently. The technician must verify the condition and accuracy of goods received and dispatched, promptly addressing any discrepancies to maintain smooth operations.

Your day will look like:

  • Carry out receiving of new equipment and updating the inventory system (R2).
  • Track and update data in the inventory system (R2).
  • Make corrections as requested by the department supervisors.
  • Assist inventory clerks as needed. (Identification, handling etc.)
  • Create transfers (R2) between sites and route equipment for transport. (for new assets dispatch)
  • Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
  • Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
  • Provides additional backup support for the warehouse.
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.

Goods In/Out

  • Check goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages, booking in on relevant systems against relevant purchase orders
  • Ensuring goods reach the appropriate department / individual
  • Manage the packaging and documentation of all goods out (UK & Worldwide) ensuring security, quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Ensure any shipping anomalies are reported to management immediately.
  • Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded
  • Maintain warehouse, yard and department tidiness
  • Liaise with other [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s warehouses/goods in on receiving stock and movement between sites.
  • Work with Managers across all departments to manage stock control, movements and logistics for the wider warehouse & SSI teams.
  • Providing support for booking couriers and transport when needed

Ad-Hoc

  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.

Essential skills / experience:

  • Good administration skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly
  • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to use a database software, knowledge of Macs
  • Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised, whilst recognising when to ask questions.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure – the role is pivotal to the smooth running of the office and dealing with customers.

Desirable skills / experience:

  • Experience of working within a similar role or within a similar industry would be preferable.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment.
  • Knowledge of R2 management system.
  • Forklift license would be advantageous, although training can be given.

Essential requirements:

  • Right to work and remain in the UK.
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours as required in addition to your normal hours of work from time to time.

Level of education:

A minimum of GCSE level (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.

Work experience:

A minimum of 1 experience in a relevant role.
