Manufacturing Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s state-of-the-art facility in Andover. Salary: £58,000 – £65,000 per annum.
About the Role
In this role, you will design and implement production methodologies to deliver quality products that meet exacting customer requirements. You will manage all stages of manufacture from initial enquiry through to final delivery, driving continual process improvement through 5S and lean practices. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge 5-axis CNC technology, advanced automation systems, and industry-leading CAM software in one of the UK’s most sophisticated precision engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop efficient CNC processes and optimise tooling for complex precision components
- Design and implement production methodologies to meet customer requirements and specifications
- Take ownership of all stages of manufacture from initial enquiry to production readiness
- Drive manufacturing improvements and support production excellence through lean practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions and process sheets
- Support the introduction of new products and processes
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues
- Optimise machine utilisation and reduce cycle times
- Mentor and support junior engineering staff
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent qualification/experience
- Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role within precision engineering or aerospace
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining processes and 5-axis technology
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (ideally hyperMILL, Pro-Engineer/Creo, or similar)
- Strong understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace/motorsport manufacturing with components to critical tolerances
- Familiarity with Vericut, Tebis, QUINDOS, or similar verification software
- Knowledge of Fanuc G-code and Siemens programming
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems and pallet-based production
- Understanding of AS9100 quality management systems
