FULL DESCRIPTION

M&A Group Performance Director

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an M&A Group Performance Director to ensure successful integration and value realization during rapid acquisition growth.

  • Permanent, Full-time
  • Borehamwood, UK

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Integration Outcomes (Non-Negotiable): Accountable for ensuring post-acquisition integrations deliver expected value. Focus on outcomes, not mechanics. Identify integration risk early and intervene via the Executive Team. Ensure integrations protect customers, people, EBITDA, and cashflow.
  • Performance & Value Protection: Track performance vs acquisition models. Identify margin leakage or underperformance early. Improve predictability and quality of earnings. Reduce surprises to lenders and equity investors.
  • Vendor & Founder Relationship Management: Act as senior, credible point of contact post-completion. Manage founder dynamics and earn-out tension. Maintain alignment and reduce disruption. Support smooth transitions where founders remain.
  • Selective M&A Judgement Support: Participate in selected vendor meetings pre-completion. Draw on experience from 20+ prior acquisitions to identify repeat risk patterns. Assess founder behaviour, cultural risk, and integration complexity. Provide judgement and challenge, not deal execution.
  • Scale & Stability During Rapid Growth: Ensure stability as significant revenue and headcount are added. Support leadership teams through integration change. Prevent fragmentation across regions and cultures.
  • Executive Challenge & Scar-Tissue Input: Act as constructive counterweight to optimism. Bring lived experience of integration failure and covenant pressure. Improve overall Executive decision-making.

Success Measures

  • EBITDA delivery aligned to models
  • Stable vendor relationships
  • Reduced integration surprises
  • Strong lender and equity readiness narrative

Ideal Background
