The Role

This opportunity offers a dynamic blend of high-level commercial contract work alongside cutting-edge legal issues in the tech and energy sectors. You’ll join a leading in-house team within the energy sector. This role spans two key areas: Contracts & Technology - Advising on a wide range of commercial contracts (e.g. SaaS agreements, software licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, work orders, change orders, standard terms and conditions of supply), and legal issues including in relation to intellectual property and emerging areas such as AI and NIS 2. Energy & Regulation - Working as part of a cross-departmental team on regulatory and commercial contracts within the energy sector, including renewables, infrastructure, and sustainability-driven projects. This is a stand-out opportunity for a solicitor looking to build deep sectoral expertise and work on major commercial matters that shape the market and will give the successful candidate exposure to high-profile contracts and transformational transactions, the chance to specialise in fast-growing and intellectually stimulating practice areas and great opportunity to develop your career within the group.

What you'll need

  • 5+ years’ PQE in commercial law, ideally with experience in commercial contracts, IP / IT, or energy.
  • A commercial mindset and strong contract drafting skills.
  • Genuine interest in the technology or energy sectors.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, highly driven individual who can manage their own workload.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to business colleagues.
