Tutor, Therapeutic Counselling in Schools Level 4, London

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for a Level 4 Diploma Tutor. In this hybrid role, you will play a vital part in shaping the next generation of counselling professionals supporting children and young people. You’ll plan, deliver and evaluate our innovative CPCAB‑accredited Diploma, provide high‑quality teaching both in person and online, and help create an inclusive, reflective and supportive learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone committed to therapeutic education, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, and ensuring trainees receive an outstanding learning experience. On‑site teaching takes place in London.

  • Salary: £21,945 p.a FTE £36,575
  • Type: Permanent, 21 hours/week (Mon, Thu, Fri)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver the Level 4 Diploma curriculum in person and online
  • Facilitate lectures, seminars, skills groups and 1:1 tutorials
  • Evaluate and assess students through vivas, formative and summative assessments
  • Provide clear, constructive written and verbal feedback
  • Support the interviewing and selection process for new students
  • Maintain high safeguarding, wellbeing and health & safety standards
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes
  • Attend team meetings, supervisions, standardisation workshops and moderation activities
  • Promote EDI, anti‑oppressive practice and safe group dynamics in all teaching
  • Stay current with research, theory and developments in counselling children and young people

Key Skills & Experience

  • Qualified counsellor/psychotherapist (Level 4+, ideally Postgraduate/Masters)
  • Minimum two years’ experience working therapeutically with children in a school setting
  • Registered/accredited with BACP, UKCP or HCPC
  • Experience teaching or training counsellors/therapists
  • Strong understanding of theory, child development and integrative practice
  • Confident assessing academic and skills‑based work
  • Commitment to EDI and working within difference and diversity
  • Excellent communication, organisation and relationship‑building skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and online learning platforms (e.g., Teams)
