Fire Warden (Waking Watch)

The role involves ensuring fire safety, conducting patrols, monitoring alarms, and assisting with evacuations. Permanent position with 24 hours per week on weekends. Requires an in-date SIA license and right to work in the UK.

Duties

  • Making sure everyone evacuates the building in a safe and timely manner.
  • Making sure the area is visually searched to ensure no one is left inside.
  • Monitoring fire safety through frequent visual checks of fire escape routes, fire exit doorsets for obstructions, defects, signage.
  • Monitoring fire equipment.
  • Ensuring people can hear fire alarms.
  • Assisting with fire risk assessment and emergency plan.
  • Giving fire briefings and supporting evacuation drills.
  • Monitoring health and safety compliance and reporting faults.
  • Protection of property and premises through vigilant patrolling and alarm monitoring.
  • Preventing loss and waste, including theft prevention and environmental waste reduction.
  • Crime prevention through patrols, access control, and reporting suspicious activity.

Requirements

  • Passion for customer care and sensitivity to clients' needs.
  • In-date SIA license.
  • Account for previous 5 years.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience in busy customer service environment or corporate security.
  • Experience in customer facing environments.
  • Flexible for covering additional shifts.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to be a performance-driven team player.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent organizational skills and willingness to work flexibly to tight deadlines.
  • Data management and strong record keeping skills.
