Fire Warden / Waking Watch Officer

Duties

  • Ensure safe evacuation of building during fire alarms.
  • Perform visual searches to ensure no one is left inside.
  • Monitor fire safety through frequent checks of escape routes, exits, and equipment.
  • Assist with fire risk assessments and emergency plans.
  • Provide fire briefings and support personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPs).
  • Control safe evacuation and support fire drills.
  • Monitor health and safety compliance and report faults.
  • Protect property through patrols and monitoring of alarm systems.
  • Prevent loss and waste by enforcing security procedures.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, CCTV, and access control.

Requirements

  • In-date SIA license.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience in customer-facing environment (hospitality, customer service, or corporate security).
  • Flexibility for additional shifts.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
