Workshop Engineer

Location: Southampton, UK

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000pa

Work Location: On-site

About the Role

We are excited to be working with a well-established Manufacturing company based in Southampton. Our client is seeking a Workshop Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with machinery operative knowledge in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Requirements

Duties:

  • Maintain machinery and tools in good condition
  • Receive build instructions from Workshop Supervisor or purchasing (When applicable)
  • Follow Cylinder build & Control Panel instructions safely
  • Assemble production orders & test as per instructions
  • Check and label components
  • Repair / Identify / Service returns, returning to A1 condition
  • CNC Lathe operation & programming when necessary
  • Stock take workshop on a regular basis liaising with Stores Supervisor
  • Awareness of new product development
  • Assist with the warehouse operational duties when required to ensure deliveries are dispatched on time
  • Schedule work and monitor
  • Maintain safety standards

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate, maintain machinery
  • Basic CNC Lathe operation (Desirable)
  • Experience in metal assembly, repair and servicing
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing technical drawings and build instructions
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to manage workload and meet production schedules

Salary:

£30,000 – £32,000pa (DOE)

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday – 08:30am – 17:30pm

Possible early finish on Fridays

1-hour lunch break
