Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our parish team! We are looking for a personable, flexible, reliable and hardworking individual to join our small parish team. The post holder will be required to undertake general maintenance and cleaning of the two churches & parish halls, as well the grounds at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. This may also entail working and liaising with parish volunteers.

Hours of work: 22 hours per week
Place of work: Based at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] & [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]
Salary: Band 3 £12 per hour

Key Tasks

• To ensure the parish hall and external area, is clean and tidy each day and before bookings start.
• Responsible for general maintenance and cleaning duties within the hall, and to assist with maintenance in the church when required.
• Oversee external contractors required to install or repair equipment or maintain parish buildings.
• Ensure adequate supplies of cleaning materials are maintained, ensuring they are stored correctly and that COSHH guidelines are adhered to.
• Adhere to all current health and safety regulations, undertaking relevant training as required.
• Carryout deep clean and detailed tasks as required and/or requested.
• Maintain the outside areas around the parish buildings.
• Liaise with organisers of meetings or other events in the hall and set up any chairs and tables in accordance with their needs.
• Liaise with the line manager to ensure that the parish hall is open in time for booked meetings and events and secured after a booking has ended.
• Notify the parish priest/line manager of malfunctions in equipment or any building defects needing attention.
