About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Database Support Engineer to join our Support Team and help developers unblock complex issues. You’ll work closely with customers and engineering, helping us improve product quality and developer experience.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Investigate and resolve advanced customer issues across Postgres, Auth, RLS, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions, and client libraries.
- Provide consultative, proactive advice to optimize workloads and avoid common pitfalls.
- Reproduce bugs, isolate root causes, propose workarounds, and escalate to engineering.
- Ask smart, targeted questions to turn incomplete reports into actionable cases.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with users of all levels.
- Spot patterns across tickets and recommend improvements to documentation, tooling, and the product.
- Mentor junior team members and help raise the overall bar for support quality.
You Might Be a Good Fit If
- Experience: 7+ years in technical support, databases, backend engineering, SRE, or similar.
- Postgres Expertise: Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals.
- Performance: Strong in high-performance SQL and query optimization.
- Troubleshooting: Comfortable with complex setups and multi-tenant schema patterns.
- Distributed Systems: Ability to debug edge functions and distributed system behavior.
- Data Integrity: Experience with data migration issues and safe recovery.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS.
- Technical Environment: Comfortable in terminal and Linux environments.
- Mindset: Thrive in high-volume situations and can form/test assumptions quickly.
Timezones & Logistics
Full-time position. Required residence in North or South American time zones.
