The School

Initial Teacher Education (ITE) is part of the School of Education, Language and Psychology. We offer BA (Hons) Primary Education, PGCE Primary, and PGCE Secondary school-centred programmes in a range of subject areas.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic full time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (Secondary), able to teach either Mathematics or Religious Education (RE) as a subject specialist, in addition to contributing to our Professional Studies programme (e.g., SEND). Secondary school experience across key stages and experience working with student teachers is required.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Teaching experience in a secondary school
  • Experience working with ITE students/programmes
  • Specialism in Mathematics or RE
  • Doctorate or willingness to work towards one
  • Research active
  • Pastoral and academic support skills
