The Department

Initial Teacher Education (ITE) is part of the School of Education, Language and Psychology. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including BA (Hons) Primary Education, PGCE Primary, and PGCE Secondary school-centred routes.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to teach Physical Education (PE) as a specialist subject across all primary ITE programmes, with the ability to teach other foundation subjects. Primary school experience with working knowledge of the National Curriculum is essential.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Primary school teaching experience
  • Experience working with ITE students/programmes
  • Expertise in Physical Education and other primary subjects
  • Doctorate or willingness to work towards one (desirable)
  • Research active
