Industrial Cleaner

Salary: £25,699 - £27,051 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours: Average 40 hours per week, between 6am to 6pm
Location: Allington Energy from Waste Facility, ME16 0LE

As an Industrial Cleaner at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you will play a crucial role in upholding the cleanliness and safety of the Allington Integrated Waste Management Facility. Your responsibilities will include the routine cleaning of plant and equipment, ensuring strict adherence to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s safe systems of work, and maintaining high hygiene and environmental safety standards. Your efforts will directly contribute to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility, supporting the essential waste management operations that keep communities running smoothly.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working an average of 40 hours per week, on a continental shift pattern, as designated by the management team.

What will you be doing?

• Carrying out assigned cleaning tasks safely and effectively
• Using cleaning tools and equipment competently
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
• Reporting any unsafe practices, near misses, or potential hazards to the supervisor
• Operating fork trucks and sweepers safely (if trained and authorised)
• Helping to minimise environmental impacts, including odour, dust, and noise
• Working collaboratively within a small cleaning team to maintain high standards
• Suggesting improvements to cleaning processes and energy efficiency

What are we looking for?

• Industrial cleaning experience (desirable but not essential)
• Good communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
• Understanding of safe systems of work (training provided)
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
• Reliable, trustworthy, and thorough in your work
• A proactive and safety-conscious attitude
