HWRC Operative – Dix Pit

Salary – £12.21 per hour

Hours – 45 hours per week

Location – Dix Pit HWRC, Oxfordshire, OX29 5BB

As a HWRC Operative at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you will assist members of the public with the disposal of their waste at our Dix Pit Household Waste Recycling Centre. You will play a key role in maintaining safety, environmental performance, and excellent customer service at the site.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?

• Assisting members of the public with safe and compliant waste disposal
• Maintaining a clean and safe site through good housekeeping and light machine maintenance
• Enforcing traffic management and safety procedures across the site
• Segregating and storing waste materials into correct streams
• Escorting customers disposing of asbestos or special items
• Monitoring and securing the premises at the end of the day
• Reporting any accidents, near-misses or hazards

What are we looking for?

• A team player with a helpful and positive attitude
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A keen awareness of health and safety
• Willingness to learn and undertake training, including mobile plant operations
• Previous experience in the waste industry is beneficial, but not essential
