Operational Risk Manager (EMEA Governance and COO) (12 Months Mat Cover)
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a global financial services group. We are hiring for a 12-month maternity cover role in London.
Job Description
The role will involve supporting the EMEA Governance and COO Lead who is responsible for meeting the departments strategic objective, including:
- Risk Framework & Reporting: Implement and maintain the Operational Risk Framework, ensuring Policies and Standards are met within the department
- Business Management & Strategy: Lead the ORM function’s internal operations, including recruitment, internal governance and compliance tracking and co-ordinating with Global ORM
- Transformation & Innovation: Optimise the Target Operating Model (including identification of potential for offshoring activities and optimising matrix reporting and RACI), drive digital transformation, and manage new CTB requests ‘Triage process’
- Legal Entity Framework Harmonisation: Develop a simplified and aligned ORM Legal Entity oversight Framework for all legal entity and business in EMEA working closely with Global ORM.
- Regulatory & Audit Liaison: co-ordinate with internal/ external auditors and regulators to prepare materials, ensure consistent messaging, and track remedial actions.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in operational or enterprise risk related functions in financial services institutions, particularly in relation to Legal Entity Governance and Framework
- An understanding of the role of Operational Risk in a Wholesale business
- Display commercial awareness and an understanding of key business priorities
- Have solid understanding of the components of an operational risk management framework
- Be experienced in delivering multi-stream, complex business facing projects/initiatives
- Have excellent communication and influencing skills
