The Role

As a [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Trainee Manager, you will embark on a 12-month development programme covering operational, service, and leadership standards to become a future Store Manager. You will work through a career pathway training programme supported by your Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and optimising KPI performance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to drive loyalty and repeat purchases.
  • Offer a VIP concierge service, contacting customers with product updates and tastings.
  • Sell the story, managing tasting events and an enticing tasting counter.
  • Take ownership of wine knowledge and pursue WSET qualifications.
  • Maintain the physical appearance and maintenance of the store.
  • Involvement in all operational tasks, from wine delivery to merchandising and customer calls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and mandatory training.
  • Take ownership of your own development and support junior team members.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience.
  • Can prioritise and problem-solve in high-pressure environments.
  • Self-motivated, able to work alone and as part of a team.
  • A can-do attitude and passion for solving problems.
  • Adaptable and resilient.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Wine knowledge beneficial but passion to learn essential.
  • Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
