[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Yard Fitter for their Dudley depot. The role involves mechanical and electrical work on welfare vehicles, cabins, and plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Hire Manager/Supervisors/Team Leaders in preparing, off hiring, servicing & repairing welfare motor vehicles, cabins & plant equipment.
  • Working safely with good housekeeping, PPE, toolbox talks, and near miss reporting.
  • Operating as a team player and supporting other depots when needed.
  • Being flexible with extra hours and occasional off-site work.
  • Liaising with other departments for prompt delivery.
  • Checking welfare cabins and plant equipment for repairs/services.
  • Identifying damage and reporting to line manager.
  • Providing high-quality repair and maintenance service.
  • Managing costs and monitoring work quality.

Requirements

  • Mechanical or engineering background
  • Experience with generators
  • Low volt DC experience
  • Experience with towable units
  • FLT licence (preferable)
  • Driving licence
  • Good safety awareness
  • Team player with adaptability
