Yard Fitter

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Yard Fitter to join our Hire Operations Team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. This is a permanent, on-site role based in Dudley with a competitive salary. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, servicing, and repairing welfare motor vehicles, cabins, and plant equipment to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Hire Manager/Supervisors/Team Leaders in preparing, off hiring, servicing & repairing welfare motor vehicles, cabins & plant equipment
  • Ensuring good safety awareness and professional working practices including housekeeping, PPE, toolbox talks & near miss reporting
  • Working as a team and offering support to the wider team, including other depots during periods of annual leave
  • Being flexible with working hours and occasional off-site work
  • Liaising with other departments for prompt delivery
  • Checking welfare cabins and plant equipment for repairs/services
  • Identifying damage and reporting to line manager
  • Providing a high-quality repair and maintenance service
  • Managing and controlling costs
  • Monitoring work quality to minimize errors and customer dissatisfaction

  • Adapting to situations and organizational change

Key Requirements

  • Mechanical or engineering background
  • Experience of working with generators
  • Low volt DC experience
  • Experience of working with towable units
  • FLT licence (preferable)
  • Driving Licence
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with collaborative mindset
