FULL DESCRIPTION

Assistant Site Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring an Assistant Site Manager for its South business, based in Southampton. This is a permanent, full-time position with occasional remote working flexibility.

About the Role

  • Assist with planning and development of policies for a safe working environment (100% Safe goal and Perfect Delivery).
  • Ensure compliance with customer and [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] SHEQ policies.
  • Control and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring full compliance with procedures and method statements.
  • Deputise for the site manager when absent.
  • Ensure effective control of subcontractors with quality control checks.
  • Undertake regular site inspections to maintain customer quality standards.
  • Maintain and report on site quality, inspection, waste management, and environmental plans.
  • Implement measures for site safety.
  • Monitor site progress and prepare daily/weekly reports for the site manager.
  • Manage subcontracts, including progress meetings, instructions, and payment evaluations.
  • Coordinate deliveries and ensure material availability.
  • Process technical enquiries and complete outstanding works.

Candidate Requirements

  • Achieved or working towards a professional academic construction qualification.
  • Ability to travel and support projects in the South.
  • Significant experience in main contracting on schemes between £5M and £20M.
  • SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS card, and degree qualified.
  • Good organisational and supervision skills.
