We are offering a trainee opportunity to commence Summer 2024. You will be part of a growing and dynamic team in our Yorkshire region, working on real projects alongside experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the estimating team to achieve deadlines as part of the wider Precontract Team.
  • Obtain the most competitive quotes by understanding current market trends.
  • Assist tender pricing strategies and continuously monitor market pricing.
  • Review and assess tender documentation ensuring all documents are received and correct.
  • Assist in the review of tender documents assessing scope, risks, and tender complexity.
  • Shadow the team on site inspections for tender understanding and analysis.
  • Operate within standard estimating procedures, calculate and prepare quantities.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Compile documentation and assist with handover material for project team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A level or equivalent education, working towards suitable qualification.
  • Appreciation of first principles estimating.
  • Awareness of current health and safety requirements.
  • Good experience of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Appreciation of Bluebeam and InDesign software.
  • Ability to manage tasks, work in a team, and follow instructions.
