Summary of Role
A Pre-Construction Manager responsible for leading all pre-construction activities on behalf of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], including coordinating consultants, supply chain and team members, and submitting completed bids on time and within budget.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of preconstruction activity to convert projects from 2nd Stage through to construction
- Establish customer key objectives and deliver on these
- Build effective relationships with Customers, Consultants & Supply Chain
- Develop and execute design and commercial strategy
- Prepare and manage programme to agreed timescales
- Update and manage project risk register
- Seek opportunities for innovation
- Lead value management processes
- Provide expert project management capability
- Hold strong understanding of commercial and contract elements
- Lead development of robust Contractors Proposals documents
Tenders/Bids
- Ensure effective leadership on all tenders and projects in preconstruction phase
- Interact with overall [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] business to communicate benefits to customers
- Establish winning strategies and writing plans for quality led bids
- Coordinate production of bids and proposals
- Identify resources with necessary skills and capabilities
- Guide bid team writers in preparing technical and cost components
- Review proposals for responsiveness, accuracy, and quality
- Create corporate concepts and boilerplate content
- Ensure MSC work winning processes are implemented
- Apply health and safety standards
- Lead tender presentations, interviews and negotiations
Ideally you will have
- Significant experience in key sectors of the Tier 1 main contracting market
- Ability to manage design, commercial, contract & operational elements during 2nd stage of two-stage procurement
- Wide experience in project management capabilities and client engagement expertise
What we are looking for
An experienced Pre-Construction Manager with ability to work with senior management, excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills, and ability to make sound business cases. Previous senior level involvement in work winning is an advantage.
