About the role

You will be working within our Construction London & Home Counties business, where you will:

  • Assist with planning and development of policies and procedures for a safe working environment in pursuit of our 100% Safe goal and Perfect Delivery
  • Ensure compliance with customer and [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s SHEQ policies
  • Control and coordinate subcontractors ensuring full compliance
  • Deputise for the site manager in occasions of absence
  • Ensure effective control of subcontractors and maintain quality control checks
  • Undertake regular site inspections achieving customer quality standards
  • Maintain and report on site quality, inspection, waste management and environmental plans
  • Implement site safety measures
  • Monitor progress and prepare daily/weekly reports to the site manager
  • Assist with subcontractor performance assessment
  • Manage subcontracts including progress meetings, instructions, and payment evaluation
  • Coordinate deliveries ensuring material availability
  • Process technical enquiries
  • Ensure outstanding works are completed

Ideally you will have

  • Achieved or working towards a professional academic construction qualification
  • Ability to travel and support projects in and around Sussex
  • Significant experience in main contracting with schemes between £10-£40 million

What we are looking for

As an experienced Assistant Site Manager, you will have good understanding of construction practices, SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS card, organisational and supervision skills. Ability to manage tasks and work alone or as part of a team.
