What Will I Be Doing as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor?

As part of our 24-month graduate programme you will gain first class on-the-job experience in your role, fully supported by line management and the wider network of skilled colleagues. The graduate development programme provides key skills relevant to your technical discipline, personal development, and professional body qualification.

  • Applying best practice to our commercial processes to help maximise returns in terms of profit.
  • Using your keen eye to identify and drive out any redundant costs.
  • Supporting with the preparation and closure on monthly invoices looking at variations, claims, and any disputes.
  • Learning how to conduct project financial forecasts.
  • Becoming the go-to-person for our and wider contractual, commercial, regulatory procedures.

What We Can Give You

You will start off on a salary of £30,000.00 with continuous recognition over the 24 months with salary progression of up to a maximum 5% every 6 months. What You Will Need

  • A minimum lower second degree, preferably RICS accredited degree including BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying (or a conversion course).
  • A problem solver
  • Self-motivated
  • Some supervision skills
  • Ability to manage a given list of tasks
  • Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team
  • Some knowledge of construction practices and standards within their subject
  • Good writing, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to handle situations and problems
  • Know when to ask for help and guidance
