Job Description

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting effective financial management within the organisation through provision of timely and accurate financial information to enable decision making.

Specific Duties

  • Review and presentation of monthly divisional management accounts within strict deadlines
  • Reconciliation and review of balance sheet control accounts
  • Conduct variance and trend analysis to identify business risks and opportunities
  • Review statutory returns including VAT, Intrastat and VIES ensuring full compliance with filing requirements for both Irish Revenue and HMRC as applicable
  • Contribute to the annual audit process including liaising with external auditors, provision of supporting documentation, swift resolution of audit queries and preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Preparation of annual budgets and rolling reforecasts
  • Partnering with operations and other business functions to offer financial guidance and supporting strategic projects including provision of ad-hoc financial information as required
  • Recommending and assisting with the implementation of process improvements and robust financial controls including supporting the internal audit process.
  • Support system development and participate in user testing programmes.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant holding a recognised professional qualification with ACA, CIMA or ACCA
  • Previous experience working within a similar role in a fast-paced environment with manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office applications (knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central desirable)
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and standards (GAAP/IFRS)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills as well as keen attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a flexible approach along with a professional attitude
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet strict deadlines.
