Senior Accountant

What you will do

You will be responsible for foundational accounting functions, ensuring core processes are accurate and systematic. Additionally, you will act as the line manager for our talented accounting team, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure high performance. You will also lead efforts to enhance our approach to accounting, including advanced financial reporting and compliance. The role will offer additional variety and challenge. You will work across multiple jurisdictions, accounting standards, and legal systems in the UK, US, and Greece. You will go beyond traditional accounting to help us improve our resource planning, revolutionise our ERP systems, and lead on critical initiatives such as our approach to intellectual property management. You will do this whilst supporting our wider research, communication and technology teams to help deliver meaningful and important work for our clients.

Example Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all accounting related functions e.g. bookkeeping, payroll, annual reports
  • Advanced financial reporting e.g. detailed analysis of company expenses, revenues, KPI's
  • Resource planning and cost accounting
  • Intellectual property and compliance management
  • Research into global legal and tax matters, ahead of real-world implementation
  • Other tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department

Requirements

Consider applying if you also have the following requirements:

  • Accounting degree (TEI/AEI)
  • Substantial experience in accounting and financial reporting
  • MS Office Suite skills
  • Working English level
  • Good knowledge of international accounting standards
  • Good knowledge of Greek employment law

Desirable skills:

  • Experience using Pylon accounting software
  • Experience using EPSILON NET business Payroll
