Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for inpatient older adult services. This role is based at Highbury Hospital, Bulwell and Blossomwood Hospital, Mansfield. The closing date is 19 May 2026.
Job Summary
Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist – Inpatients, older adults complex dementia and mental health. This is a unique opportunity to develop specialist skills supporting communication and eating, drinking and swallowing needs. The post holder will be supervised by a Clinical Specialist SLT and join a supportive, forward-thinking team.
Main Duties
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments and carry out individual SLT assessments and interventions.
- Manage communication and eating, drinking and swallowing needs, working with the team to support these needs.
- Highlight communication and dysphagia risks, contribute to risk management plans, and provide training.
- Work with service users, the MDT, and carers to plan safe discharge and support community living.
- Support accessible care and patient engagement in treatment.

Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (Essential)
- Post graduate dysphagia training (Essential)
- HCPC registered (Essential)
- RCSLT registered (Essential)
- Experience with dementia and mental health diagnoses (Essential)
- Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use (Essential)
