Consultant Hernia Surgeon

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Hernia Surgeon to join a ground breaking, innovative healthcare team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group ([Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]). We are looking for several surgeons experienced in delivering local anaesthetic hernia surgery. You will be paid £300 per operation, £45 per initial consultation and £17 per follow up session.

Services will be delivered in several West Midlands sites although the ability of our surgeons to work across our other sites across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Leicestershire would be welcomed and encouraged.

Main duties of the job

  • We are looking for several surgeons who are experienced in delivering local anaesthetic hernia surgery.
  • Working with us you would be undertaking clinics and hernia surgery for a number of sessions per month depending on your availability and patient numbers.
  • You will be paid £300 per operation, £45 per initial consultation and £17 per follow up session.

  • Ensure hernia services meet the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice and on the GMC specialist register in general surgery
  • Relevant qualifications i.e., MBBS / FRCS or equivalent
  • Experienced general surgeon with an interest in local anaesthetic hernia surgery
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Experience

  • Relevant experience as a consultant
  • Experience in hernia surgery, particularly under local anesthesia
  • Experience of working in a small team conducting surgical procedures under local anaesthetic.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Able to lead and co-ordinate a multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • High standard of written and spoken English.
