Main Duties of the Job
The post supports the CAR-T cell programme, working closely with the Southampton Lymphoma Service and the Wessex Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cell Therapy Program (WBMT&CTP). You will join the Department of Clinical Haematology and participate in the management of patients with haematological disorders undergoing CAR-T cell therapy (including ALL, Lymphoma and other indications). You will work within consultant-led subspecialty teams alongside specialty registrars. There may be the option to contribute to the haematology on-call rota depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities
- Review of patients referred for CAR-T cell therapy in outpatient or inpatient setting.
- Liaison with referring teams, CAR-T consultants, and coordination team for apheresis, bridging, infusion, discharge, and follow-up.
- Management of patients undergoing CAR-T cell therapy in collaboration with subspecialty teams.
- Referral to other specialty teams (e.g., intensive care, neurology, cardiology) as required.
- Discussion of cases at lymphoma and leukaemia/myeloma MDTs and CAR-T MDT.
- Active involvement in development and expansion of the CAR-T service within WBMT&CT.
- Recruitment and management of patients within CAR-T clinical trials.
- Participation in clinical governance, audit, education, and research activities.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Training & Experience (Essential)
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- MRCP Part 1 or higher specialty membership exam (or equivalent)
- MRCP Part 2 or higher specialty membership exam (or equivalent)
- Appropriate knowledge base and clinical judgement
- Internal Medicine experience for at least 12 months OR Clinical Haematology experience for at least 6 months
- Experience of out of hours and emergency care
Desirable
- MRCP PACES
- Higher degree
- Experience of working as a doctor in the NHS
- Internal medicine for at least 24 months
- Clinical haematology experience for at least 12 months
- Quality improvement or education project completion
- Publications related to haematology
- Experience of stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies
