Salaried GP
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Salaried GP to join their well-equipped surgery in London. This is a permanent, full-time/part-time position with flexible working. Key responsibilities include clinical examination, prescribing, management of long-term conditions, and contributing to quality initiatives. Applicants must be fully qualified GPs registered on the GP Performers List, with at least two years experience as a salaried GP preferred.
Job Summary
We are a surgery located in London area, with fantastic commuter routes and a diverse patient population. The surgery operates from a well-equipped, semi-detached premises and currently has no extended hours or weekend commitments. The surgery is fully staffed with an experienced team of clinicians, nursing staff, and administrative support, including ARRS roles. We have an exceptional clinical and administrative team, and you will be replacing a long-term Locum GP who is relocating. This surgery caters to registered patients only, with ample support functions. We offer home visits and online service. We work closely with the Primary network and neighbourhood teams. There are opportunities to develop special interests, alongside access to a health-promoting practice environment, local training hub development programmes, and E-Learning. We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced GPs.
Main Duties
- To clinically examine and assess patient needs and plan clinical care accordingly.
- Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
- Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately in complex, urgent or emergency situations.
- Effective management of long-term conditions.
- Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies.
- Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals and repeat prescription requests.
- Review medications following appropriate policies and guidelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
- Accept delegated responsibility for specific areas including QOF, LES and Premium services.
- Adhere to practice policies on Safeguarding Adults and Children.
- Contribute effectively to clinical governance and training.

Person Specification
Experience
Essential:
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in a primary care environment
- Experience of providing home visits
- Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
- General understanding of the primary care contract
- Proven ability to evaluate safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice
Desirable:
- An appreciation of the NHS landscape
Clinical Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities
Essential:
- Outstanding clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with experienced GP
- Understanding of evidence-based practice
- Experience with MS Office & Clinical IT systems (e.g. EMIS)
- Understanding of clinical governance processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of health promotion strategies
- Ability to work within own scope of practice
- Effective time management, problem solving and analytical skills
- Personal accountability, emotional resilience, works well under pressure
- High levels of integrity and loyalty
- Evidence of continuing professional development

Qualifications
Essential:
- Qualified GP
- MRCGP
- Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
- Postgraduate qualifications
- Full GMC registration
- Performers List registration
