Facilities Assistant - Domestic
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Facilities Assistant - Domestic based at Withington Community Hospital in Manchester. This is a part-time, permanent role with a salary of £25,272 per annum pro rata. The closing date is 17 May 2026.
Job summary
We are now looking for staff to be based at Withington Community Hospital to deliver excellent support services to the Trust. As a Facilities Assistant - Domestic you will deliver a full and comprehensive cleaning service to the departments in Withington Community Hospital. You may also be required to support at our Intermediate Care Units Buccleuch Lodge, Willow Bank Lodge, and Dermot Murphy. We have a Monday - Friday 16:30-20:00 post available. As we are a healthcare organisation that is open 7 days per week, the successful candidates may be asked to work on bank holidays, including Christmas. Please note that this is a domestic cleaning role and not a nursing assistant role.
Main duties of the job
Provision of cleaning services within a Hospital/Healthcare environment whilst working closely with Ward/Department staff to ensure a high-quality service provision. To work closely and support other facilities services such as catering, linen and portering to ensure the seamless delivery of facilities services.

Person Specification
- Essential Qualifications: Good written and spoken English and ability to do basic maths.
- Desirable Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English, Cleaning training qualifications, Customer care training qualifications, Basic food hygiene level 2 certificate.
- Essential Knowledge: To understand and be able to carry out instructions to set specifications; Understanding and awareness of confidentiality.
- Desirable Knowledge: Good knowledge of food safety.
- Essential Training & Experience: Demonstrate basic knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Desirable Training & Experience: Experience of working within a healthcare environment; Previous experience in a similar post.
- Essential Skills & Abilities: Able to adapt to meet service needs; Ability to multi-task; Good interpersonal skills.
- Essential Attributes: Ability to work within a team without constant supervision, utilising own initiative.
