Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, polite, confident, resilient and organised individual to join the ENT ODP Service as a Health Care Assistant band 2 or Clinical Support Worker band 3 (depending on experience). You will be expected to have good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with the numerous patients that visit outpatients on a daily basis. Be able to work without constant direct supervision using initiative within the level of competence for the post. Act as a role model at all times, reflecting [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] values and behaviours and delivering high standards of care.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a high standard of individualised compassionate care to patients, whilst maintaining at all times, their privacy and dignity.
- To assess patients using observations and relevant safety tools.
- To identify abnormal findings and to ensure appropriate escalation process takes place
- To use the computer systems to input patient care.
- To communicate to the patient and carers their OPD journey
- To work along side the nurses, AHP and doctors within scope of practice.
- General housekeeping on the unit.
- Admin work accordingly and when required.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
Essential:
- English and Math GCSE grade 9-2 (A*-E) or equivalent or high level of literacy and numeracy skills demonstrated within application
- Competence based level 2 Qualification e.g. NVQ or Diploma in Care or The Care Certificate issued by an employer
- Willingness to undertake any training or development relevant to the role
Desirable:
- Competent in decontamination of nasoendoscopes
- Moving and Handling
- Infection Control
- Customer Care
- Competent / able to evidence the completion of Health Care Assistant core competencies
- Competence based level 3 Qualification e.g. NVQ or Diploma in Healthcare Support
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
Essential:
- Previous employment with a healthcare setting (18 months)
- Insight into the roles of responsibilities of the post
- Demonstrate a commitment to a caring profession
- Understand the importance of record keeping
- Literacy Skills
- IT skills
Desirable:
- Experience of record keeping
COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS
Essential:
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to work in a busy environment
