Quality Improvement and Regulation Manager

This role is based in Edinburgh or surrounding areas (Dalkeith). The role is home based with regular travel to services. Salary: £45,000 a year plus car allowance and 10% bonus. Permanent, full-time position. The closing date is 05 July 2026.

This position, based in Edinburgh or its surrounding areas, requires a professional who will collaborate closely with the Lead Quality Improvement and Regulation Managers, as well as senior directors, to meet business objectives focused on regulatory compliance and advancing quality improvements. Ideal for experienced individuals from quality improvement or regulatory roles in health and social care, this home-based position requires traveling to different service locations, mandating access to a car and holding a valid UK driving license. Resilience, flexibility, and strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver against the annual Quality Improvement Review (QIR) and support visit schedule
  • Monitor and review data to inform risk-based responses
  • Provide day to day central support, advice and guidance on regulatory and quality improvement matters
  • Provide constructive feedback on quality improvement review findings
  • Writing reports and action plans to drive quality improvement
  • Attend regional meetings to share updates, common themes, and best practices
  • Work on a rota basis on the Regulation Duty Desk function
  • Involvement on key quality improvement projects
  • Draft, review and refresh relevant policies and key guidance
  • Complete visits to 3 services per fortnight (6 per month) for a portfolio of services

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience in health and social care regulation, quality improvement, registered manager role, or inspection frameworks
  • Excellent understanding of health and social care regulations and quality improvement strategies
  • Ability to review evidence, assess against standards, and excellent analytical skills
  • Confident and enthusiastic about regulation and quality improvement
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Positive and solution focused attitude
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring
  • Ability to motivate others and drive change
  • Resilient and flexible
  • Ability to work to KPIs and tight deadlines while maintaining quality
