Specialist Occupational Therapist - Adult Mental Health
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our community mental health team in the West of Cornwall. This role is available as a band 6 role for an experienced Occupational Therapist.
- Location: Bolitho House, Laregan Hill, Penzance, TR18 4NY
- Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 a year (Pro Rata)
- Contract: Permanent, Part-time
- Closing Date: 19 May 2026
Main Duties of the Job
- Maintain and further develop the current Occupational Therapy role within the Community Mental Health Team, including 1:1 and group provision.
- Provision of Occupational Therapy to a defined caseload of patients within the Community Mental Health Service, using evidence-based practice, OT process and client centred principles.
- Contribute to assessment and planning, implementation, and evaluation of interventions within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Support with generic tasks within the team as required.
- Contribute to the development of the Trust Occupational Therapy Service and best practice initiatives.
- Support with the development of OT support worker role within the team.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
Essential
- HCPC Registration
- BSc/Diploma Occupational Therapy
- Proven experience of working with patients with complex and challenging needs, including physical and cognitive impairment
- Relevant post-graduate qualification or equivalent specialist experience eg. AMPS, Sensory Integration, DBT
Skills and Aptitude
Essential
- Skills to apply and interpret standardised Occupational Therapy assessment tools.
- Experience of clinical risk assessment and management in mental health
Desirable
- Leadership experience / qualification
