Interventional Radiologist

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring an Interventional Radiologist to join their state-of-the-art service at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton. The role offers a hybrid working pattern, flexible job plans, and home PACS access. The closing date is 01 June 2026.

Main Duties

  • Perform interventional radiology procedures including image-guided biopsy and drainage, vascular and aortic aneurysm MDTs, and IR clinic.
  • Participate in the non-resident 1:6 interventional on-call rota at Musgrove Park site (no diagnostic on-call).
  • Contribute to the Somerset and North Devon vascular network (population over 800,000).

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Essential: FRCR or equivalent, Full GMC registration, Radiology training CCT or CESR (CP) or within 6 months of AAC interview date
  • Desirable: Interventional radiology subspecialty fellowship

Experience

  • Essential: 3 years equivalent Interventional Radiology subspeciality training, Vascular and non-vascular IR training, Broad training in general radiology, Evidence of CME/reasonable training progression, Experience in clinical audit or quality improvement, Practices of evidence-based medicine

Additional Criteria

  • Essential: Teaching experience, ability to work in multidisciplinary team, communication skills in English, ability to fulfil on-call commitments
  • Desirable: Awareness of health care issues, understanding of NHS and clinical governance, management/financial awareness, committee work experience, formal teaching diploma, research experience/publications
