Salary: £52,656 a year per annum plus London Weighting

Contract Type: Fixed term (12 months)

Job Summary

We are very pleased to offer appointment to the post of junior clinical fellow in Medicine at the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. The post is based at Barnet General Hospital and offers an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to join a committed team of consultants and junior doctors in these well-developed services. Barnet Hospital is a busy District General Hospital which is renowned for being an excellent place to work and train.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to work in the Department of Medicine. We have opportunities to work on our Acute and Geriatric wards, and on our newly created hot floor; which works in collaboration with ED to avoid admissions by providing a rapid assessment and treatment.

Main Duties of the Job

The applicants can be part of the medical SHO on-call rota if assessed to be suitable (all JCFs start of as unbanded), which will give excellent experience in dealing with acute medical admissions.

This post is an ideal opportunity to broaden experience in medicine, while deciding on a career path. The candidate will be supported with Clinical and Educational supervision as well as a range of learning opportunities through the very active Education Centre.

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Essential: Registration with the General Medical Council, MBBS or equivalent
  • Desirable: MRCP Part 1, ALS course

Experience

  • Essential: Ability to demonstrate broad clinical skills in the management of all patients, Experience in medicine
  • Desirable: Previous audit experience, Previous publications
