Job Summary
The Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST) provides holistic recovery transitioning adults from secure inpatient care to community placements. The role involves tailored assessment and intervention for clients with autism, learning disability, or speech/language/communication needs, working within a multidisciplinary team.
Main Duties
- Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions for clients with complex needs.
- Work collaboratively with Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Psychiatry, Nursing, and other Allied Health Professionals.
- Travel to various locations across Birmingham and Solihull.
- Support recovery, wellbeing, and risk management of clients in the community.

Person Specification (Essential)
- A recognised professional degree qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
- Registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Demonstrates highly specialist skills in SLCN, complex communication needs and neurodevelopmental conditions
- Evidence of responsibility for leading service development
- Knowledge of trauma and adverse childhood experiences
- Knowledge and application of specialist assessments and interventions for communication
