[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to provide high standard palliative and end-of-life care in the in-patient unit and community. The closing date is 04 June 2026. Salary £25,272 a year. Permanent, full-time or part-time. Location: [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], Turf Lane, Royton, Oldham OL2 6EU.

Main Duties

Provide consistently high standard of palliative and end-of-life nursing care across all services. Communicate well with patients and families, document clear notes, work flexibly across hospice services. Must hold full UK manual driving licence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the multidisciplinary team to achieve high standard of care.
  • Apply Hospice values and principles of behaviour.
  • Develop good communication with patients and families.
  • Inform Nurse in Charge of any change in patient condition.
  • Respect privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Support patients to take prescribed medication and complete MAR Chart.
  • Be counter signatory for controlled drugs after training.
  • Carry out nursing practices in accordance with Hospice policy.
  • Report accidents, incidents, hazards to Nurse in Charge.
  • Attend staff meetings and training.

Minimum Requirements

  • Sound basic education in English and Mathematics.
  • NVQ level 2 in Health Care / Care Certificate desirable.
  • Previous experience in palliative care setting desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Ability to work in a team or alone.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
