Apprentice System Support Officer

Our Digital Services Deployment and Support Team brings together Project Managers, System Support Specialists, Trainers, Change Managers and Administrators to deliver and maintain the digital systems that keep our organisation running smoothly. As an apprentice, you'll become an important part of this collaborative, forward-thinking team.

About the Apprenticeship

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship in Digital and AI Support
  • 16-month training programme, delivered alongside your day-to-day role

Main Duties of the Job

  • Set up and manage system access for Digital Services applications
  • Monitor the daily performance of key healthcare systems to ensure smooth clinical and administrative operations
  • Log, track and help resolve system incidents, escalating issues when needed
  • Collaborate with the Group Integration Team and external suppliers to maintain system interfaces and resolve technical issues
  • Support project teams implementing new systems or functionality, including offering guidance on configuration
  • Assist with regression testing, system release assessments and issue management throughout the testing lifecycle
  • Help deliver training, updates and communications to system users
  • Provide high-quality support to internal and external users of Digital Services
  • Work with the Systems Manager to maintain a customer-focused, reliable and effective service
  • Gather and share information on system changes, issues and new features with colleagues and staff across the Group

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English Language
  • Excellent keyboard skills
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or equivalent knowledge

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 and / or equivalent experience in relevant topic

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a customer service or call handling environment
  • Experience of using electronic systems
  • Experience of Microsoft Office products
  • Working knowledge within the General Data Protection Regulations 2018

Desirable

  • Previous NHS experience in a relevant healthcare setting
  • Proven experience of working within software application role
