Senior Clinical Fellow - Bone Infection Service

The appointee will have elective orthopaedic joint reconstruction experience and be interested in developing their skills in the management of prosthetic joint infections, revision of lower limb arthroplasty and limb salvage.

Main Duties of the Job
- Play an active role in the hospital's clinical audit programme.
- Provide teaching and advice to medical students from Birmingham University.
- Research sessions will be made available for ongoing research and audit commitments.
- Work with each Consultant within the service to gain maximum experience.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
- Registration with the GMC with a licence to practice
- FRCS (Orthopaedic) or an appropriate higher surgical qualification
Experience
Essential:
- Significant experience as an orthopaedic trainee
- Competent in managing patients with hip and knee conditions
- Ideally limb salvage experience
Skills
Essential:
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills
- Evidence of publications and/or presentations relating to arthroplasty, limb salvage and prosthetic joint infection
