Job summary
We have a fixed term appointment available for 12 months from June 2026 in the Clinical Oncology department. The post is full-time and the post holder will be expected to participate in the general medicine rota. This is an excellent opportunity within Clinical Oncology at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. The successful candidate will be working within the Clinical Oncology team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide care for cancer in-patients and will be closely supervised by the oncology consultants and specialist trainees. The post holder will also gain invaluable experience in state-of-the-art radiotherapy techniques and will have the opportunity to enhance their e-portfolio.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
- Hold a current licence to practice from the General Medical Council
- ATLS certification or equivalent
Desirable:
- MRCP Part 1
Experience
Essential:
- Experience in medicine, oncology or surgery at equivalent level
Desirable:
- NHS experience
Knowledge
Essential:
- Experience of audit
Fitness to Practise
Essential:
- Up to date and fit to practice safely and aware of own training needs
- Evidence of engagement with appraisal and revalidation
Skills
Essential:
- Able to evidence engagement with clinical governance and the identification of errors and the learning from errors
- Able to show situational awareness and application of good decision making
- Can evidence leading on patient safety issues and achieving a change in practice
- Experience of supervising undergraduates, doctors in training and other colleagues
Desirable:
- Ability to teach clinical skills
- Experience in organising educational activities
