Job Summary
We are offering an opportunity for an enthusiastic and friendly Treatment Planning Assistant (non patient facing) to join our Radiotherapy Physics team. You will join the Radiotherapy Treatment Planning team, a section of Radiotherapy Physics that underpins the Radiotherapy service, located in an award-winning facility comprising 6 Linacs, 2 CT scanners, Xstrahl SXR, Papillon-50+ SXR, Flexitron HDR and state-of-the-art Varian (Eclipse) treatment planning system.
Main Duties of the Job
- Schedule treatment planning tasks for a number of radiotherapy patients.
- Monitor the treatment planning task list, identifying and managing workflow issues.
- Import patient imaging data into the radiotherapy treatment planning system and prepare data.
- Create treatment plan reports and enter in patient electronic management record.
- Prepare treatment plans for in-vivo dosimetry and quality assurance measurements.
- Maintain stock control of consumable items.
- Provide administrative and basic technical services.

Person Specification
Essential
- Good level of education to GCSE, AS and A level, NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Experience of using a variety of IT software
- Experience of MDT working
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and with interruptions
- Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods
- Excellent IT skills
- Basic knowledge/awareness of radiotherapy/oncology
Desirable
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent
- Experience of working in a healthcare/clinical environment
- Experience of using specialist/complex computer system
- Knowledge of radiotherapy treatment planning pathways/process
- Knowledge of basic anatomy
