Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Housekeeper to join our team on Critical Care at North Manchester General Hospital.

Main duties of the job

• Work closely with nursing and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean and organised clinical department.
• Ensure all medical equipment is clean and well maintained; liaise with domestic supervisors for high cleaning standards.
• Serve breakfast and lunches, order food for patients, and ensure adequate equipment and stock.
• Report estates work and request portering services.
• Assist in continuous quality improvement by undertaking audits on the ward.
• Keep ward information boards up to date.

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential

• Good written & verbal communication skills
• Experience of dealing with the public
• Experience of working within a health care setting
• Basic keyboard skills
• Basic computer skills

Desirable

• Experience of working within a hospital environment
• Experience of ordering & stock control
• Willing to undertake NVQ or Apprenticeship Level 2 in Care Support Services
