Assistant Patient Administrator - Outpatient Receptionist

This is a Band 2 permanent full-time role at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], based at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] in Fulham, London. Salary: £31,066 per annum (incl. HCAS). Closing date: 19 May 2026.

Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly, self-motivated and confident person with experience of providing a high level standard of customer care. The post holder will provide a comprehensive patient focused reception service working in our Outpatient Reception. Working hours are between 8am-6pm Monday to Friday.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide a customer focused reception service for all patients and visitors
  • Check in and book patient appointments in a timely manner
  • Interact with patients and relatives in a sensitive and empathetic manner
  • Process all follow up appointments as patients leave the department
  • Make up community and hospital notes using Cerner
  • Help with answering the ANC phones and dealing with patient queries

Person Specification

Education & Qualification

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • English & Mathematics GCSE or equivalent

Experience

  • Previous clerical experience including computer use
  • Experience of working within a customer-driven service
  • Experience of front of house (Reception)

Skills and Knowledge

  • PC skills
  • Ability to work under supervision as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and politely
  • Knowledge of filing systems
