Job Summary

Within the Children's Outpatient's department we really value our staff, all staff play an important role in the day to day running of our clinical services making sure that patient care is at the forefront of all we do. This post will support the Children's Outpatient Clinic located at Royal Preston Hospital working with our booking team and on our main reception.

Main Duties of the Job

There's no doubt, in order to make a difference for the patients we serve at Chorley and Preston Hospitals, we need great people providing dedicated support behind the scenes. You will be joining a team working hard to transform the way we provide patient administrative contact services. As part of the digital transformation, we are constantly looking at innovative ways to transform administrative tasks moving us forward towards a 'digital first' approach. We are looking for someone who can keep their cool when things get chaotic.

Job Responsibilities

  • Excellent communication skills and love to interact with patients to ensure the best patient experience.
  • Eager to learn about the Trust's outpatient appointment booking processes and the systems that support this function, specifically the National Spine, Flex and BI Portal.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinicians, managers and others within the Specialty Business Unit and with trust wide service users.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Education

Essential: Numeracy and literacy skills, Administrative skills.

Desirable: RSA Level 2, Audio typing skills.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential: Aware of the concept and application of confidentiality.

Desirable: Previous experience of working in a health care or related setting, Previous experience of working with the public.
