Job summary

As part of our team, you'll engage in a 1:7 middle-grade rota, ensuring comprehensive coverage of our Nephrology Unit.
Main duties of the job
- To provide general medical care within the department in close co-operation with colleagues and other specialties
- To provide emergency general medical care within the on-call rota
- To participate in the department's teaching, audit, and educational activities

Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
Essential: Hold a current licence to practice from the General Medical Council
Desirable: Advanced Life Support Certificate or equivalent
Knowledge
Essential: Experience of audit
Previous Experience
Essential: 12 months experience working in Medicine at Core Level or equivalent.
Desirable: NHS experience
Fitness to Practice
Essential: Up to date and fit to practice safely and aware of own training needs. Evidence of engagement with appraisal and revalidation
Skills
Essential: Able to evidence engagement with clinical governance and the identification of errors and the learning from errors. Able to show situational awareness and application of good decision making. Can evidence leading on patient safety issues and achieving a change in practice. Experience of supervising undergraduates, doctors in training and other colleagues
Desirable: Ability to teach clinical skills. Experience in organising educational activities
