Job Summary
Applications are invited for the post of ST3+ Trust Grade Registrar in Urology at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Whipps Cross Hospital. This post is initially for six months with the potential to extend for a further six months. The successful applicant will work in the capacity of a Registrar alongside a team of six to seven Registrars to support delivering elective and emergency care in the Urology Service. There may be the opportunity to some protected research time. NHS Experience is essential to this role as well as MRCS Part A.
Main Duties of the Job
- In-patient care at Whipps Cross is consultant led. The post holder will contribute to care of in-patients, rotating this responsibility with colleagues.
- Opportunity to train in Urological surgery, TP Biopsy, Urodynamics and Flexible Endoscopy.

Job Responsibilities
The post holder will have a strong commitment to the organisation and delivery of postgraduate training and will be actively involved in the training and supervision of foundation year doctors. The post holder will also teach small groups of medical students in the clinical setting during their Urology attachments.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Higher Qualifications
Essential: MBBS or equivalent, MRCS
Desirable: BSc
Knowledge
Essential: SHO experience in General Surgery and Urology
Desirable: Middle Grade experience in Urology
Training Expected / Management/Audit Experience
Essential: Career in Urology planned
Desirable: Audit experience
Academic Achievements/Research/Publications
Desirable: Publications in peer reviewed journals, Presentations at Local / National / International meetings.
Personal Skills
Essential: Good command of spoken and written English
Personal Circumstances
Essential: GMC Registration, Hep. B immunity
