Advanced Clinical Practitioner Lead

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to lead their standalone Urgent Treatment Centre in Whitby. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a salary of £57,528 to £64,750 per annum. The closing date is 19 May 2026.

The applicant will deliver a high standard of patient care using autonomous clinical and prescribing skills combined with a broad and in-depth theoretical knowledge base of minor illness and minor injury.

We are looking for an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner who has experience in prescribing, providing physical health assessment, advice, diagnosis, treatment, and care planning to service users with complex needs. The post-holder will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within general practice.

The applicant will clinically lead the department.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Lead the team in delivering high standards of patient care, embed clinical policies, guidelines and standardise clinical governance within the service area.
  • Leading service development and change in practices, such as triage.
  • Undertake day to day management of the department.
  • A high degree of autonomy and complex decision making across an expanded scope of practise.
  • Working with the Service Manager, Operations Lead and matron to develop the service and undertake day to day management tasks, audits and complete reports within the service.
  • The role encompasses the four pillars of clinical practise, leadership and management, education and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area specific clinical competencies.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential:

  • Registered with relevant professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC)
  • Independent Non-Medical Prescribing
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent
  • Understanding of the 4 pillars of Advanced Practice

Desirable:

  • Teaching/mentoring qualification; NHSE Digital Badge
  • Qualification in Minor Illness/Minor Injuries

Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years post-registration experience
  • At least 3 years in relevant clinical area
  • Experience managing complex cases

Desirable:

  • Experience in service development, protocol writing, or project management
  • Experience in UTC, ED; Leadership in service development
