Simulation Fellow in Medical Education/HCID
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Simulation Fellow in Medical Education with an interest in Infectious Diseases. This 12-month fixed-term post offers a unique blend of simulation education and HCID training. Salary: £52,656 – £73,992 per annum (excl. LZ). Closing date: 17 May 2026.
Main Duties
- HCID PPE Training and in-situ simulation within adult ID, paediatric ID, and adult/paediatric ICU
- Working alongside HCID leads and wider Infectious Diseases team
- Opportunities to attend ID ward rounds, clinics, and weekly infection education meetings
- Supported to develop simulation-based education competencies through faculty development, one-to-one mentorship, and self-reflection sessions

Job Responsibilities
- The post-holder will have an educational supervisor and will be supported to follow our faculty development framework.
- Participation in novel and longitudinal project work and encouragement to present work at local, national or international simulation conferences.
- Conceptualise, design and conduct simulation-based research with support from the Simulation Research Lead.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: Full GMC Registration, IMT2+ Medic, minimum 6 months WTE of training programme remaining.
- Desirable: Prizes, presentations, publications, StR/SpR in Infectious Diseases training programme.
Clinical Ability
- Essential: Satisfactory progression through medical training (RITA/ARCP).
- Desirable: Experience in HCID setting.
Educational Capability
- Essential: Previous experience in medical education, understands educational concepts, publications, additional degree or MSc.
- Desirable: Knowledge of career pathways, broad interest in academic medicine, research experience.
