CBT Therapist
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Band 7 CBT Therapist based at the Coastal Community Mental Health Team in Ipswich. This part-time, permanent role offers flexible and hybrid working options. Closing date: 19 May 2026.
Job Summary
We're looking to recruit a band 7 accredited CBT Therapist. The post is based at the Coastal Community Mental Health Team in Ipswich. We are a friendly, supportive and dedicated multi-disciplinary team, with competencies and accreditations in a range of evidence based psychological therapies. The ideal applicant(s) will be passionate about delivering evidence-based therapies and working psychologically with people experiencing mental health difficulties living in the community.
Main Duties
If you are passionate about CBT and are experienced in working psychologically with adults with complex presentations associated with community mental health, then this role will be perfect for you. Whilst additional training in EMDR would be highly desirable, we are committed to developing our staff and appropriate training will be available for the right applicant.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Professional qualification and registration in a recognised mental health profession
- BABCP accreditation as a CBT/Therapists (may have been gained following successful completion of High Intensity Therapist Training).
- Knowledge and experience acquired through relevant first professional qualification at degree or postgraduate degree level.
Experience
- Theoretical knowledge of CBT/Therapies and the application of appropriate models of practice, according to client need.
- Highly specialist assessment skills in CBT/Therapies.
- Excellent communication skills with a range of people in a variety of both clinical and managerial settings.
- Proven effectiveness in engaging family and carers in treatment programmes.
- Desirable: Experience of working with a wide variety of patients whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems
Knowledge
- Knowledge of psychosocial interventions
- An understanding of the policies and guidelines both local and national e.g. National Institute for Clinical Excellence Guidelines Government initiative.
