We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at Heathrow IRC, an Immigration Removal Centre located in West Drayton.

Heathrow IRC combines Colnbrook and Harmondsworth removals centres under one management structure making it the largest immigration removal centre in Europe, with a capacity of 965 residents. We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician who can dispense and who is ACT qualified. You will be working alongside 8 other Pharmacy Technicians, based within the healthcare department.

Hours

  • Monday - Sunday service
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 8.30am - 4.30pm / 7am - 7.30pm
  • Rotas are done 4 weeks in advance

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary between £37,296 - £45,331 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)

Experience

  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • General GCSE education or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
